Cute Perspective

My little 2 are always up long before the sun. This morning I went in to them (they share a room) and Aaron was excitedly telling me, "Mom, mom, I was looking at the moon and it was looking back at me!!"

More Snow

Since yesterday afternoon we have gotten almost 2 feet of snow. We didn't take an actual measurement, but it was a crazy amount. Life has shut down and we had a wonderful day at home enjoying the beauty of it.
I walked the girls down to the neighbor's house to play. Greta hated the snow again today. She was happy in the backpack on my back, but we tried to put her in the sled and she cried almost the whole time. And yes, she refused to wear mittens, that's why her little paws are sticking out.

Morgan at our neighbors... she sat in the yard and the snow was up to her chest!

Who needs 4 wheel drive when you have a horse and buggy?

A view of our house. The stone on the porch is halfway done, just waiting for some nicer weather!

I thought Morgan looked so cute in her hat today.

Craigslist

Since my dad is temporarily laid off, it is kind of my responsibility to find things for him to do. There's lots of drywall for him to be working on, so that's kept him pretty busy. He's become a bit of a craigslist addict... like my mom says, she comes home from work worrying what she will find him with that day.
This is all a bit of an exaggeration... my dad is so sweet. He saw this ad that had a bunch of free toys. He went at 6 a.m. to pick them up and deliver them to us. Oh my goodness... I am not a huge toy person, they come and go pretty quick around here. My kids were beside themselves with glee looking through them all. There were two enormous bins of toys that were overflowing. We got a few cool things, a really cute little bike for Aaron and some trucks and such. Most of the toys were quite dirty (note the drop cloth spread on my new floor) and full of sand or dog hair. Over half of them have made their way to a free bin that sits at the end of my driveway. They've been snatched up pretty quick by Amish or other people passing by. We'll see how long it takes for the rest to find their way out of the house!!

Thanks dad, the kids are still having a blast.

I'm not sure who was having more fun looking through all the toys, Aaron or my dad.

Fun in the Snow

We had a fun little snow yesterday. It was just a few inches and great snowman making snow. It's mostly melted already but looks like we are to get a big storm tomorrow. Bring it on!
Poor little Greta hated the snow. She fell in it right away and that did her in. I was out for a little with the kids and once she calmed down she stood perfectly still for about 20 minutes. That never happens!!

Claudia was proud to make her very own snowman. Morgan made hers too but I was not able to get a shot of hers.

You can tell poor little Gretty looks pretty sad in these shots. She was just standing there being sad...

I HATE SNOW

Correction

This morning I was thinking about what I wrote on my post last night. The down side of communicating with others through this medium is that you are getting a very, very small glimpse of what happens around here. I do not want to paint any kind of picture that things are just perfect around here!! So for the sake of full honesty, yes, I am thankful for how well Morgan and Aaron play together. Though as best buds as they are, they can also fight like no other. Just wanted to make sure that I was reporting the whole story here!

Homemade Entertainment

As my younger 2 are getting a little older, there are relational dynamics that are constantly in play. I am grateful that most of the time my kids all get along and love each other. It is so sweet to me how much Morgan loves (and I mean loves) to play with Aaron. She was even at the doc the other day and they asked her what her hobbies were and #2 was "playing with my little brother". Anyway, she is always setting up some sort of contraption for him to play with. As I type they are doing some sort of diving board in the living room (and Aaron is wearing a black leotard). I don't want to look... I believe it involves all of my couch cushions. Anyway, here are a few of their recent activities.

Playing "store" where they trade merchandise

Morgan's reaction as she realized I was taking her picture

Morgan is driving them in the car made out of boxes

This cracks me up. It's a horribly overexposed shot and this was the best I could do with it. But Morgan had dressed Aaron all up and they each had umbrellas. I asked to take their pic and this was the face that Morgan kept giving me. I think she was trying to be all pensive with her dress and umbrella. Aaron apparently wasn't into posing.
