Kid Swap

Recently, my friend Tina and I did a kid swap.  I definitely got the easier end of the stick.  I got the boys who played outside the whole time.  She had the girls who wanted to do crafts all afternoon.

I love it that these kiddos are 4th cousins.

Out of the Mouths...

I think we are the only parents in America who have not taken their children to see the movie Frozen.  They will just have to wait for Redbox.  Anyway, Claudia downloaded the soundtrack and the kids know all the songs.

This morning Greta was singing a song that I didn't recognize and I asked her where it was from.

"It's from Frozen, Mom.  Claudia has the star trek of it."

It's melting

I have really enjoyed this winter and all the beautiful snow we have had.  Though I am beside myself ready for some warm weather, I will really miss the white stuff!!

V-day

Upgrades

Thanks to a very hard working and thoughtful husband, we have some fun new updates around here.  The biggest is my new desk area.  I am so bummed that I did not take a 'before' photo.  It was simply a desk and chair that I got at a yard sale and then a pretty sorry looking bookshelf that held some of my necessities.

Here is the after.  I just love how it turned out.  It cleaned up the space so much.

Ever since we installed the island we did not like it painted black.  We've talked about painting it but never had the energy.  Well, guess who decided he finally had the energy??  We think it looks much better matching the cabinets.

And lastly, Mr. Energy had some leftover paint and decided to give the basement steps a makeover.

Greta is trying to understand the idea of "live" tv.  So we were watching the Olympics tonight and she asked me if this was happening now.  I told her no, it was taped.

Claudia chimes in, "Mom, you need to say recorded, not taped.  That is so old school."

I am very quickly turning into an old lady.

Real Winter

I must admit that I am really enjoying this winter.  I love all the snow we are getting.  My theory is: if it's cold, it may as well be snowing.

We had the most beautiful snow early this week.

I'm so bummed that Claudia did not make it into this pic, I just love it.
