New wheels
Right before Morgan was born we purchased our first mini-van. We have had the same van ever since and it has served us very well. It was certainly on it's last leg in many ways and we knew for awhile it was time to get something more reliable. A few weekends back we finally broke the bank and traded in our '97 Mercury Villager and got a '07 Toyota Sienna.
The think the last time I said I was in love with an inanimate object was shortly after I got my first dishwasher (about 4 years ago.) I'm in love again... this time with my new van. It is a sweet set of wheels.

Helper?
Greta has been a bit on the clingy side lately and insists on being by my side (literally attached to my hip would be a more accurate description). Our compromise is her sitting on the counter while I work. Here she's "helping" me make blueberry pancakes by eating the frozen berries.

Greta is a bit obsessed by her crocs. The only shoes she will keep on her feet are these and her pink cowgirl boots. Miranda, thanks for passing them along!

A Few Things
It's late and I should be in bed but I'm having a bit of trouble falling asleep. So here I sit looking through my photos. I have a few random ones that I haven't posted yet...
We had a couple "oops" at the house a few weeks back. Both were my fault, gotta love that.
My poor husband has been working so hard on the outside of the house. He had just put new topsoil down and planted the grass seed. We had had days of much rain. I was away doing some errands and as I was pulling into the driveway I decided to back in. I usually pride myself in being a pretty good "backer", I grew up always backing into the garage at home. Not sure what happened this day, I think I was thinking about which flavor of Starburst jelly beans I liked best. (I had just bought the bag for the kids Easter baskets and had the make sure they were ok first.) Crazy me ran the Aspire right through the new dirt and grass seed.

The second oops was not so much my fault as my "lack of paying attention." It was the first day of our spring break and the kids were playing very contentedly upstairs and I was not giving them much attention. After a long time, Claudia came running down telling me that Aaron had spilled blue paint on the floor. She was being a bit dramatic and I thought for sure she had to be exaggerating. Well, she certainly was not. Crazy kid had dumped a whole bottle of blue tempera paint on the carpet (thank goodness it was not the new carpet, I think I would have lost it). I spent hours scrubbing and wiping it. It is now a lovely shade of baby blue, but it looks much better. My cousin is coming tomorrow with her carpet cleaner so we will see what that will do. This is the "before" picture. I almost didn't take it and I thought to myself that someday this would be funny and I want to remember it. If you look carefully, you can see the 2 perfect little hand prints at the back, on either side of the orange bottle.

A Sunday afternoon soccer game...

I'm not exactly sure how they ended up on the roof of the shed

I usually have a ton of tulips but I'm not sure what happened to them. I think something ate them last year. Just a few came up this year and they are one of my faves...

Barbie Jeep
The gift that keep on giving... a Barbie jeep. It hasn't gotten too much attention these last couple years, but Steve pulled it out this weekend and Aaron and Greta were in their glory. It is so funny to watch Aaron drive, he looks like a little man shifting it into reverse and all. Greta loooves it. If we take her out she has a huge fit. She loves letting Aaron drive her all around the yard.
I love this first shot. I snapped it as soon as Aaron's foot hit the gas petal and Greta was a bit frightened. She got over it and was quickly having the time of her life.

Easter
On Saturday, my neighbor invited us over for a little egg hunt with my kids and her daughter. The older girls and Aaron had a blast, it's cute to me how excited they get over finding the eggs. Greta was pretty clueless. She has no sense of competition, she found one egg with candy in and that was all she needed.

The big girls and Aaron sorting through their loot

Easter Sunday morning. This was taken at about 7:30 a.m. Can't believe I got them all decent and to choir practice in time! I love the look on Claudia's face as she's grinning at Aaron. Such the little mommy. Funny, I bought all the girls outfits at different times and when I was done realized that they were all polka dots!

We spent the afternoon/evening at my parents. The kids were all excited for another egg hunt. My parents do candy but also little "coupons" in the eggs like, "a trip to get an ice cream cone" or "get to spend the night with g&g".

Wow, I captured a moment of sharing!
