Track and Field day 2015

And yet another year we drove about an hour and a half to participate in a homeschool track and field day.  This event is truly one of my favorites, so well organized!!  

About a week before the field day the woman in charge sent an email asking if anyone would be wiling to sing the national anthem.  I asked Morgan.  She calmly shrugged her shoulders and said, "Sure."  I am SO proud of her!!  It's such a tough song to sing and she did it so gracefully.  

G loved, loved all the running events.  She is such a little competitor!!

We know a number of families who homeschool and one of my favorite benefits is the strong relationships I see between siblings.  Truly... all day long at this event I would see younger siblings and older siblings hugging each other as they were passing through the events.  I was so happy to capture our own little sibling love.

It was wonderful to have a few days away with Steve for our anniversary.  He rented a cabin for us up close to Stowe, VT.  Before I was married I spent a number of summers in VT working at a camp so that area has a special place in my heart!  There is something about it up there that is unusually quaint and peaceful.

We had breakfast and lunch at our cabin and we went out for dinners.  We ate at the most wonderful restaurants.  Who would have thought there was such good food in the middle of nowhere!!  I made Steve take a pic with me each night before we went out.  :)

We had a pretty "lazy" time, reading, hiking, and eating good food.  What a wonderful trip!!

I have always wanted to go to the Ben and Jerry's ice cream factory but it was too far of a trip from the camp I worked at.  What a treat for me to finally get to see it!!

Mother's Day 2015

Best Mother's Day gift ever, my sweet Morgan got baptized that Sunday.  What a joy to witness.

Still Alive

My blog has been pretty quiet.  Once again life has been very full.  Steve and I were able to get away for a few days for an early anniversary trip.  We just got back last night and today has been a whirlwind of laundry, facing the weeds that threatened to take over while we were gone, and getting back into the groove of feeding this crowd.

Steve and I spent 4 days at a lovely cabin in Vermont.  The views up there are literally breathtaking.  If you look to the top left of the lake, that is the cabin we were in!!
