18 months

I can hardly believe that my little Greta is 18 months today. She has grown so fast. Greta is so, so happy and has been such a joy to our family.. We don't know what we'd do without her!! I decided to try a little photo shoot today. Gave her some curls for the event. She wasn't too sure of what to think of the curling iron!!


Greta loves:
toothpaste and toothbrushes
running, especially in the nude
her family, she's always in the middle of the action
snuggling and giving kisses
shoes
helping unload the dishwasher
cheese, black beans, ham and candy
being outside
books and sissy's toys
being thrown around by dad

















Claudia gave Greta a special dessert with 1 1/2 candles. She loved the attention. We love you, baby G!!!!

Sometimes you just need to laugh...

This morning Aaron and Morgan were taking a bath. They will often be in there for a loooooong time. Today was one of those times. I went in and they had about 6 towels in the water with them to cover up with b/c they were cold.

Reality

With all the snow we've been having, I am having a hard time finding a solution of what to do with the constant mound of wet snow clothes. This has been my solution for the last week. Aaron thought it was his bed this evening.


And why is it that little Greta will wear everyone's hat but her own??

Cereal

I grew up with a love of cereal. Each week at the grocery store my brother and I were able to pick out our box for the week. I've had them all... Frosted Flakes, Capt'n Crunch, Apple Jacks, Lucky Charms... the list could go on and on.

I don't buy that much cereal for my family, it doesn't really "stick to the ribs" if you know what I mean. My 9:30 everyone is needing a snack. Also, it gets quite expensive and not necessarily the healthiest breakfast option. So we are more of an oatmeal, eggs and pancake family. But my love of cereal still remains. Today I was at the Amish scratch and dent store and "caved in" and bought a box of Trix. I tried to sneak them into the house. Radar was up and the sweet box was immediately noticed. I hoped that maybe they would forget about it.

I was gone tonight and came home and found out that everybody (hubby and baby included) had a bowl of my Trix. For supper!! What's a mom gonna do with that??

Helpin' Out on the Farm

This morning my Uncle Jim (he's my mom's bro and our next door neighbor) called and asked for Steve's help. Apparently the roof of one of his chicken houses was beginning to collapse from the weight of the snow. Steve went down to help. He was gone for awhile so the kids and I decided to go down and see how it was going.


He had quite the crew. My dad was there along with some friends and Amish neighbors.



Any visit the their farm is always accompanied with homemade treats. Today is was c. chip cookies and whoopie pies. Greta had a cookie in each hand. She has an incredible taste for sweets, much more than any of my other children. She has this radar that goes up as soon as someone pulls out a treat.

Valentine Fun

Valentine's Day is one of those holidays that you love as a kid... and then as you get older you get kind of annoyed at. All this Hallmark hype over what? What are we actually celebrating? I don't know. But anyway, it is a fun excuse to get the kids together and have a party. I planned a little party for the other pastor's kids. All were here but the Weavers. Missed you guys.

Oh, I remember the joy of making my own little box and seeing it full of Valentines.

After I had planned out little party, we got an invite to another party from another homeschooling mom/friend, Christal. So the kids had a day full of events.
