Yard Work

We've been trying to tackle some yard work this week. It's not going as fast as we had hoped. What is it about little ones that make any project SOO much harder?? Our weeds are out of control and we're trying to mulch. We're getting there. Tonight my mom and my nieces came over for supper and we put them to work. It was quite the crew.
Our weather has been crazy this week. Early on in the week was almost in the 90's and tonight we were back to sweatshirts and jeans.

"Hi mom and dad! Hope you're having fun in NYC!!"

awhile in there tonight!!

Expressions

I caught a lot of different expressions the last few days, here are a few:

Greta laughing at my bother

Loving the grass

Afton in her own little world

This is what Avery did when I told her to say "cheese"

More Family

The only way to get everyone to sit still...an ice pop!

Bad shot, but funny none the less.

Cousins

My brother and family are in again for the week. We had a fun filled evening together with all the little kiddos.

Here's Avery hanging out in grandma's flower pot

Little buds, Afton and Greta, only 8 months apart

Grandpa made the weeping willow tree "snow".

Sleepiness

Greta had a looong morning hitting a bunch of garage sales with me and my sis-in-law, Miranda. Got home, had to make everyone lunch, and Greta got put in the saucer. She was surprisingly content in there. After lunch, I went in the living room to get her to put her down for her nap and this is what I found.

Outside

Today was absolutely gorgeous. The sun and warm felt so good. We spent some time outdoors today... Morgan got her hair cut this week and I have been wanting to get a good pic of her. Today was too windy so it didn't really work out as I had wanted. Here she is trying to get her bench all ready that she wanted to sit on. She still things dandelions are pretty flowers. I hate to tell her otherwise.

The new 'do.

All the kiddos. For whatever reason, Aaron did NOT want to be sitting on that bench!

The Exchange

I spent my afternoon doing one of the jobs I dread most... the seasonal clothing exchange.  I usually put it off as long as possible, but I had a little chunk on time today so I tackled it.  It gets a little overwhelming to be constantly keeping track of 4 kids clothing needs.  And there are all the decisions to be made while doing the switch out... Will this fit her next year?  Will she like this next year? Will this fit her next week?  Does she really need 4 pairs of jean capris?  Do I want to save this for Greta?  Do I save it, consign it, or give it away?  Then there are all the things you find during the switch out.  What is under your bed?  We may as well change your sheets to the summer ones... when was the last time you we washed your quilt?  Uggh.  It is a never ending process and I really am only about halfway done!!

Sweetness

The other day I woke up from a nap with this little note beside my bed. How sweet. I especially love the dime attached to it.

Church Property

Today was the first nice spring day in a long time and we were itching to get out! This evening we headed over to our church's property with our friends, the Priviteras, to run around and see where our future building will be. Here are a few shots of the evening:

More Easter

A few more shots of Easter day. Here is a blurry, overexposed shot of the kids...

How sad that my son had a trick-or-treat pumpkin for an Easter basket. My only excuse is that he did not know any different!! This ONLY happens when you are a third child. I would have NEVER done that with #1 or #2!!

Easter Fun

We returned a little bit ago from a fun afternoon at my aunt
and uncle's house. It was a little bit of a crazy morning, I didn't
get my normal Easter morning photo of the kids. I sang in a choir
at church and had to be there by 8:15. Steve always leaves for church
super early so it was up to me to get them all there and ready. (Anyone
else agree that moms should be awarded a gold medal for getting
themselves and kids ready, fed, presentable, and there somewhat
on time???) So, I did a quick shot on the couch, but they turned
out bad. I may decide to post one later. ANYWAY... so we spent
the afternoon at my mom's brother Joe's house. They were sweet
to have an egg hunt for the kids.

Home again

Steve and I returned this afternoon from spending the last 4 days down in Gaithersburg, MD.   We went down with the rest of the pastoral team for the Sovereign Grace pastor's conference.  It was a great few days, filled with great teaching and fun times of seeing lots of friends from our year down there.  It is always good to get away, but always good to be home.  Back to the "real world" again tomorrow morning!!

American Girl Tea

My mom took the girls to a local church for an American Girl tea
party. They got to dress up and eat food and even won a couple
small prizes. They had a great time. Thanks, Mom!
