Snow...and ice...and rain...

Today's weather sure was an interesting mix. It was fun playing
in, the snow had a crusty ice layer on top.
There was some serious progress in the house today, this was
the first time that Aaron has let me put hat, gloves, boots, etc. on
him without a fight! He even went for the snow pants. Certainly
something to celebrate!!

A cute little nurturing moment

My little workhorse

Morgan volunteered to haul in some wood today for the fire.
She put it in the laundry basket and drug it into the house. How
cute!!

Trenches

Nothing fun to post on this evening... just a few days of sick kids and not much sleep. I am thankful that we have had a pretty healthy winter so far. Aaron and Morgan are a little under the weather with some bad coughing and potentially an ear infection.
Life as a mom is sure crazy and busy and stressful and infuriating and invigorating all at the same time. I have my days where I think I could turn all my kids in... and then the next day I am in tears about how grateful I am to have them all. It is definitely an exhausting job on all fronts: physically, mentally, and nothing makes me run to God for mercy, wisdom and strength like a day with them.
All this to say... this is definitely a hard season that I am in, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love that my baby is so stinkin' cute and smells good no matter how many days it has been since she has last been bathed, I love the way Morgan hugs me and is so sweet, I love that Aaron can sing Amazing Grace, spell his name, and knows who the President, VP, and Sec. of State are. I love how my Claudia is so observant of me and those around her and is so fun to talk to and laugh with. Thank you, God for the amazing gift of these children. It is a humbling privilage to care for them.

Babysitter Fun

The other night Steve and I were gone at Care Group and our
fun and creative sitter, Shannon O., had some fun with the kids
and the camera. Here are a few of their shots:

Fun with the Floods

Yesterday after dropping off my mother-in-law at the airport, we
swung by to see the Floods. Their family was also at the Pastor's
College last year. We were neighbors and had lots of fun together
as families. We have missed them and it was great to be able to
spend a few hours together again.

More Maw

We had to say good-bye to Steve's mom today. It was great to have
her here again for a few days. The kids all love her and we were all
sad to see her go. Here are a few more shots of her time with us.

She gets the grandmother of the year award this day for playing
in the snow for about an hour and a half!!

Maw...

We have had a very busy week around here. Steve and I spent 4
days in Hershey at a marriage conference with our church. We had
a wonderful time there. Sat. night Steve's arrived from California.
The kiddos call her "maw". Everyone is enjoying the extra attention
from a spoilin' grandma!!

More Gaithersburg

Our second stop on our trip down to MD was to see our good
friends, the Lowes. They were our neighbors while we lived there
and we spend lots of time together last year. Claudia and Emma
became fast friends as did Helen and I. It was so great to spend
some time catching up.
Emma spent the night at the hotel with us. Here are the girls
all jammied up after a few hours in the pool. Can't you tell by
the red eyes!!?

Claudia's attempt at a pic of Helen and I. Helen just had baby
#6. She is an amazing mother and has the sweetest kids

Weekend away

Me and all my girls returned a few hours ago from an overnight in
Gaithersburg. We went down to visit some good friends that we
made while in the Pastor's College. Our first stop was to see my
friend, Summer and her 2 precious little ones. Summer lives in
Burma and is home for a few months. It was so fun to meet her
new little man. William was born just a few weeks after Greta.
They made a pretty cute little pair.

Greta got to borrow William's lumberjack hat while we went for a walk

All the kids minus Aaron. He got to stay home with g-ma and g-pa.
Bummer for this blurry photo

A long week...

There has not been too much happening around here this week except 3 of us getting sick. I am thankful that it has stayed at 3... we'll see how long that lasts! I came down with this horrible cough that is finally beginning to clear (it's been almost 2 weeks). Poor little Aaron has it now. He coughs so hard it looks like his eyeballs are going to pop out. So, Steve and I have had some very long (or short, depending how you look at it!!) nights in taking care of him. I think last night I got about an hour and a half of sleep. Ughh.. worse than having a newborn!! So, hopefully this week there will be something fun or picture worthy to post!!
