Greta's 4

We have had a whirlwind few weeks around here.  The start of school, our visit with Steve's sister, and then our end of summer birthday-palloza.  All of our girls' birthdays are within 3 weeks of each other.  Great family planning, eh?

Thankfully little Greta was not at all concerned that her birthday was super low key.  I have a few shots from that time that will come later.  This evening I got to sneak away with her for a few moments to get her 4 year old pictures.  She was so excited to do this.

Greta has grown up a lot this past year.  She has become much more one of the gang and loves to hang out and do what everyone else is doing.  One evening last week we were outside and I had the idea that she might be able to ride her bike with no training wheels.  Steve took them off and she pretty much rode away!!  She required very little assistance in that.  More and more Steve and I are seeing that she is pretty athletic.  She loves to run and race and does not have much fear when is comes to physical things.

Greta loves to eat and I think her favorite food is meat.  But if you ask her should would say tomato soup.  Actually, I think that just changed to corn on the cob.

Greta's interests include anything pink and pretty.  She loves her jewelry and anything that she can dress.  She does play legos and trucks with Aaron but I know it's only b/c she wants to be with him!  She loves to color and do puzzles and play outside.  She is very content to let others lead her.  Though if you make her mad, watch out!  She still is pretty shy and does not always have much to say.  When Steve does Bible time at supper her 2 favorite questions that she asks almost every night are, Why is God a Spirit? and Why did Jesus have to die for my sins?  Her little brain is ticking away...

Greta you are a dear and we love you so.  You are such a sweet little addition to our family.  Happy 4th birthday!!
Steve's mom sent $$ for the girls and their presents.  We took Greta to build-a-bear and she loved it.  This is her new favorite teddy.

Unless I directed her otherwise, this is what Greta did in front of the camera.  So sassy!

This pose cracks.me.up.

Steve and I got married on the other side of this bridge.  Ashley was our flower girl, she was 5 at the time.  No one in the front row of this picture was even in here yet.

Out of the Mouths...

Today at church we had a baptism.  For years now Aaron has called it bath-tism.  Whenever I talk to him about it I use that word, just think it's cute.  So this morning before church we were talking about the bath-tism and he looks at me and with all the self righteousness a 5 year old can muster he said, "Mom, it's not bath-tism, it's bat-tism."

I wonder how long it will take him to realize he still has it wrong??

Simple

It seems to be "Morgan week" here on the blog so I'll finish with one more post about her.  :)

Morgan has always been my simplest child.  I think she would wear the same outfit every day if I let her, she would eat oatmeal for every meal if I would serve it to her, and if you look at her closet, you can tell that she's not really that into keeping stuff.  Her shelves are pretty bare.

Years ago back when she was a toddler, I remember writing in a family newsletter that Morgan didn't really like to play with toys.  She was content with a rubber band and a clothes pin.  True story.

I had to take a picture of her belongings the other day.  She set them on the counter.  She was collecting plum seeds to make a homemade checkers game and the foil ball she salvaged from supper's baked potatoes.  Being the wonderful mother that I am, they both went into the trash after I took the picture.  My policy is if it's laying on my kitchen counter for more than a few minutes, they must not want it too bad and it becomes mine.  That usually means trash.  :)  Sorry, Morgan, if you were looking for your things!!
