Putting up the tree

In keeping with our annual tradition, we put our tree up last night,
right after Thanksgiving. We've gotten a lot of grief for having a
fake tree, but I told Steve that I think we have just as much fun putting
up our artificial one as those who go and get the real thing. And think
of all the money we save (I got this fakey at a garage sale for $1!!)
and all the needles that I'm not sweeping up. So, here are a few shots
of our evening.

Snow Drama

Since having kids, I have a love/hate relationship with snow. I love to
see it falling and the beauty of it. And I love a good sled run. But, the
drama of getting kids ready to go in the snow is sometimes a little much
for me. We woke this morning to the ground covered in a beautiful
snowfall. I told the girls they had a choice of doing school now and play
later or play first and school later. They chose to play first, so immediately
after breakfast, the drama began. There has been much improvement,
because I believe this is the first year that there have been no tears
concerning Claudia getting ready in the snow. Things are always too tight,
too big, too loose, the mittens feel funny, the foot won't shove correctly
into the boot, now the sock is crooked, uggh. The only concern this year
was that the snow outfit did not match, but she quickly got over that.
This year Aaron was the drama king. He would have nothing to do with
a hat, boots, or mittens. Even the spiderman light up boots had no drawl
for him. So, being the third child that he is, I allowed him to go in the
snow with is sneakers, sweatpants, and coat. No hat, no gloves, and no
boots. Here is him in drama mode after I tried keeping his hood up.

The girls made this snow man all by themselves, I was pretty
impressed!! They did need my muscles to lift the balls on top of each
other but that was it!

Having a picnic in the back of Uncle Jeremy's truck

Aaron's b-day is in just a few weeks and grandpa wanted to give him his
gift. Aaron was so in love with his new toys, a police and fire truck that
make all kinds of crazy noises and lights up, etc.

Family fun

This past week a bunch of Steve's family came in for a
visit. It was fun having a house full of guests. We had a
good time together and the kids loved all the attention!!

Toy Story

The other night Steve and I went out and Claudia
organized a "Toy Story 2" party for when their babysitter
got here. She made a little Woody costume for Aaron, she was
Little Bo Peep, and even Pamela came with her Woody hat on.
We love you, Pamela, thanks for watching our kids and having
so much fun with them!!

Fun picts

A few weeks back, I had my friend Tina over to take some shots of
Greta. She is a very good and creative picture taker so I put her
to work!! Here are a few of my faves, I will post a few more when
I have a chance.
Funny side note about Tina and I. We go to the same church, hit
it off right away as friends. After a couple years we found out that
we are related! Our grandpas were 1st cousins, so that makes us
thirds! How fun.

Morgan at the zoo

This weekend, Morgan has had the opportunity to go to Columbus
with my mom to see my brother and his family. Today, he took
Morgan and Avery to the zoo. He sent me these pictures and
Morgan wanted to see herself on the blog. Here you go, Boppies,
looks like you are having a fun time. We love and miss you lots!!

Scaredy cat

The other day I saw this really cool bug on my front step
(is it a walking stick?) and I thought Aaron would think so
too. Obviously not!

Going to the polls

Just returned not too long ago from voting. It is always such a "high" to go and cast my vote. I am so thankful that we live in a country where we have the freedom to do this. It is also neat to see who all is coming out and doing the same thing, the moms with their strollers, the elderly in their wheelchairs, the men in the work clothes and scrubby boots; the polls attract a whole range of us. Thanks to cuz Shannon for watching the kiddos so I didn't have to drag them all along!!
