Snow Drama

Since having kids, I have a love/hate relationship with snow. I love to
see it falling and the beauty of it. And I love a good sled run. But, the
drama of getting kids ready to go in the snow is sometimes a little much
for me. We woke this morning to the ground covered in a beautiful
snowfall. I told the girls they had a choice of doing school now and play
later or play first and school later. They chose to play first, so immediately
after breakfast, the drama began. There has been much improvement,
because I believe this is the first year that there have been no tears
concerning Claudia getting ready in the snow. Things are always too tight,
too big, too loose, the mittens feel funny, the foot won't shove correctly
into the boot, now the sock is crooked, uggh. The only concern this year
was that the snow outfit did not match, but she quickly got over that.
This year Aaron was the drama king. He would have nothing to do with
a hat, boots, or mittens. Even the spiderman light up boots had no drawl
for him. So, being the third child that he is, I allowed him to go in the
snow with is sneakers, sweatpants, and coat. No hat, no gloves, and no
boots. Here is him in drama mode after I tried keeping his hood up.

A happier moment

The girls made this snow man all by themselves, I was pretty
impressed!! They did need my muscles to lift the balls on top of each
other but that was it!

  1. Wow. Girl you are fast with the pictures. I took some but they are still in my camera:) Your house sounds like mine. Wyatt just dressed himself 100% to go out for the 2nd time. I am rejoicing!! Now we just have to get Lily not to complain/cry about the way things fit and Adalynn to wear her clothes:)

  3. Lemme check ... yep, it's 80 degrees here. Not exactly Thanksgiving weather, eh? I'm not a fan of "snow drama", but I don't enjoy it being this warm in the Fall either.

Hope you guys are doing well!

  4. I definately don't miss all the snow drama! I hated getting my kids ready to go out in the snow or get bundled up to go out in below zero weather. It would take me an hour to get all the gear on properly and fitting correctly and feeling right and find mittens that met approval from both kids and mom. I was exhausted by the time I kicked them out the door! I'm happy with a dusting of snow a couple times a year.

  5. Claudia and Morgan, a snowman in that little of snow. And it's huge! You girls know how to build a snowman. Great job!
