Gingerbread Houses

Every year I think it would be so fun to do gingerbread houses with my kids and then I balk at the price of the kits.  Can't imagine forking over $50 for a house for each kid.  And no, I'm not about to consider making them from scratch...

This year someone gave us a kit for a gift and it was a gingerbread village.  Perfect!  The kids had so much fun.  I forced myself to take a huge chill pill before we started.  Activities like this are not necessarily a joy for me.  Overall things went really well and it was a fun morning we had together.

Driving

In Iowa you are allowed to get your permit when you are 14.  Claudia has made it clear that for that reason she would love to live in Iowa!!  While we were there this fall, Steve took her out on his Grandpa's back lane of the farm.  I love this video...

2014

I love to take a few minutes and look back at our year.  It always amazes me how much the kids change and the things that I forget.  I am grateful for photos and the memories they capture.  Here are some of my favorite memories from 2014.
