Ugh...

Last weekend I was doing pictures for a family.  I took them to a spot just down the road from us that I have used many times before.  As we were shooting I saw a woman walking towards us.  I assumed she was being friendly and I greeted her with a cheerful, "Hello!"  Her response was:

"So, did I miss you knocking on my door to ask permission to be in my field?"

Me: Stunned silence.  I may have squeaked out an "Um....."

Lady: "So do you have permission to be in my field?"

Me: "No, we do not."

Lady: "So you are leaving now?"

Me: "Yes, we are leaving."

And we hightailed it out of there as soon as we could!!  I was so stunned, flustered, embarrassed.  It honestly never occurred to ask someone for permission to take pictures in their field.  I understand if it is someone's house or yard.  A field?  How do I even know who a field belongs to?  Guess I am a little too naive.  And it also looks like I need to rethink some of my locations that I shoot at!

Victim

This poor thing is often the victim of her little brother's aggression.  Yes, she does aggravate him at times but often he just hauls off and hits her for no reason.  The other day his tooth went through her lip as he was head banging her.  She looks even worse b/c big sister put some pink eye shadow all around her.  Looks like she has 2 black eyes too!!

Greta's 5

Last night I finally had a few moments to take my precious G's birthday pictures.  She is so fun to take pictures of.  She's a little "poser", I hardly instructed her in most of these pictures.  Greta is at such a happy, lively stage in life.  She loves to draw, do crafts, make cards, and is learning how to read!  She adores her baby brother and loves her grandma.  She has boundless energy!!

My favorite.  I think this one is going in a frame on the wall.

On top of the World

This past Saturday, I looked out the window and there was a firetruck in front of our house.  I went and spoke with my neighbor who is the fire chief and was directing traffic.  Apparently all of the local companies were using the creek down the road from us to run water and test their hoses and such.  For the rest of the morning the fire trucks just kept coming and coming.

Little Josiah was in his absolute glory.  He's still talking about all the "wee-ooh wee-oohs" that were here.
