Tortillas

Back when we were first married, I had all kinds of time to experiment in the kitchen.  One of Steve's favorite things that I used to make was homemade tortillas.  It has probably been at least 10 years since I have done it.  I came across a recipe recently that reminded me of how simple and yummy they really are.  They're easy, just time consuming.  So in honor of March madness, we had ourselves some breakfast burritos for supper with homemade tortillas.
What was funny to me is that Greta is not usually aggressive about wanting to help in the kitchen.  Once in awhile she will ask but tonight when she saw me with that rolling pin, she was begging to help!!  I let her do one and after that I told her it was my turn.  She burst into tears.  Thankfully she was content with a ball of dough while I finished the rolling.

Footprints in the dough.  Yes, laid back mother of the year.

She didn't want me to take her picture.   New stage.  If you enlarge the photo you can see the tears that I needed my rolling pin back.

  2. I've always wanted to try and make my own tortillas. Would you share your recipe? And on another note - Greta doesn't like her picture taken? That is a new stage!

  3. Feet in the food ... you're my kind of mama! =)

When I clicked over to this page I saw Rebekah Daphne's comment and thought to myself, "Wait? I posted something here. When did I do that??". Yep, that's the kind of mama *I* am -- the totally spaced out kind. ha
