Snowy Birthday

Yesterday was a wonderful day, my little Aaron turned 3 and we had an amazing snowstorm! I didn't officially measure, but we got at least a foot and a half. The day before the storm my dad told Aaron it would snow on his birthday and he exclaimed, "I don't want it to snow on my cake!!"
It was so fun to watch the snow falling, it's been a long time since I've seen snow like this.

I put Greta on my back so we could go out and take a few shots. She seemed to like it. Please ignore my big beak in this photo:

Aaron's celebration was pretty low key (how many more years can I get away with that??)

Birthday high five

We stuck a fire truck on a holiday cake from the grocery store. No prize for creativity here!!

We love you little buddy. You are such a fun addition to our family. You make everyone laugh and smile and we don't know what we'd do without you!!

She's in!!

My van is happy, happy happy. After all these years, it is finally in a garage. Thanks Steve, Claudia and Morgan for working so hard tonight in the FREEZING cold to clean out the garage. It's looking great!

Not so much of a helper, but still enjoyed the time. Disclaimer: I am not responsible for his outfit of jammies and boots.

Broken and Painted

In the last 24 hours I have had glass shattered all over my kitchen floor 3 times. Last evening for supper Greta dropped one of my Corelle plates. Isn't that stuff supposed to be shatter proof? Lunch today... I had my blender filled with fruit to make smoothies. I went to the garage to get some frozen pineapple and heard a loud crash. Some little almost-3-year-old-man thought he needed to push the blender buttons and in doing so he pulled the whole thing off the counter and my glass pitcher to the blender shattered. Fruit and all. Then this evening sweet Morgan was helping me put away groceries and crash... a jar of homemade salsa all over the cabinet/floor. Is hardwood flooring that much harder than fake??!!?

Today my wonderful mother spent the better part of the day painting away. Thank you, thank you mom!! Our living room is officially painted and waiting for trim and flooring and then will be ready to be put back together! I can hardly wait. My sofas has been in the kitchen, all the other living room extras have been in the basement. It will be so sweet to have our extra room finally in function.

One more note: our porch will have posts. I realized yesterday that I never said that and that will make it look much nicer!!

Outside done!!!...almost...

Steve just came through the door with a grand announcement that the outside is done!! The weather has not been cooperating lately so the last of the siding and gutter have been a long time coming.
It's still not quite complete, we are having a friend do stone on the faces of the porch. That will get completed as time and weather allow.
Yippee!!

Library

My girls absolutely love going to the library. The get as many books as they can shove in their bags and read them all in just a matter of days. I just recently let Aaron start getting his own books. He's so funny carrying this bag that is as big as he is (he calls it a pocketbook...my poor child, surrounded by girls). Anyway, the other day we were getting ready to go and he hung his "pocketbook" on the door and it struck me so cute.

P.S. This is a much more accurate color of my new front door
