Around the House

We stayed at a wonderful place while at the beach.  It was called "Bayside" right by Fenwick Island.  It was the perfect size for all 13 of us.  There was a nice pool and playground and the garage of our house was packed with bikes.  My dad and my girls rode bikes for hours...wish I knew how many miles they did while we were there.

My dad initiated a cherry seed spitting contest.  Not sure who won, but I got some silly pictures.  Claudia is looking over my shoulder and informed me that Chad was the winner.  Way to go, bro.

What a dude.

It was a nice attempt...

While at the beach, I had this grand idea to take a big family picture.  We were headed out for supper and to the boardwalk and thought we would take a few minutes before we left to give it a shot.  I didn't really get the shot that I envisioned...it didn't help that I had to keep running back and forth from my camera to push "self-timer".  Here's what I got:
First shot.  Not to shabby at first glance. Look closely and see my uncooperative 4 year old and a tongue sticking out.

Second shot.  3 non-lookers.  Shucks.

Shot #3.  I realized that the location we were in was a tad sunny so we shifted a bit.  Better lighting, but that was about it.  Not sure why I'm smiling at my still uncooperative 4 year old.  Another non-looker and a set of eyes shut.

Shot #4.  This is probably the best shot of us all except for the HUGE gust of wind that came and so anyone who had any amount of hair looks a little windblown.

Shot #5.  This is probably the keeper though I'm not sure what's going on with my bangs, Morgan's eyes are shut, and Aaron suddenly turned a little too happy.

First day at the beach

We left Lancaster on Wed. and drove straight to the beach.  I'm not sure who was more excited, the kids or myself!!  It was pretty windy and a tad chilly, but the beach was fairly empty and it was so fun to be near the water and the waves.

Pretty much every time I looked at Morgan, this was the position that she was in.  She was digging holes everywhere.

Funny, my dad hung out on the beach in his jean shorts and polo.  I told him, "You know you are a grandpa when you wear jean shorts to the beach."  He was really in the water a lot, just not that first day.  Guess he didn't feel like changing after the car ride.

Made it Home

Got in a little bit ago from our trip to the beach.  We had a great 4 days together as a family.  Unpacked and washing sandy, salty clothes... I love to look through my pictures when I get home from a trip like this.  Lots to share, but I love this one of my parents and all the kids.

Vacation

Tomorrow morning we are leaving to go down to Delaware for a few days to enjoy the beach.  We will be going with my parents and my brother's family.  Can't wait!!

Engaged

Last evening I did some pictures for a sweet, young couple at our church.  It was a beautiful evening with beautiful southern end Lancaster County scenery.
