Out West 2017: New Mexico

I think the most dramatic scenery change we saw on our trip was the drive from Oklahoma into New Mexico. It immediately changed from 'Midwest beauty' (as my husband likes to call it) into the red rocks of the desert. We loved the change and were oohing and ahhing for miles and miles.

Back in the late 90's and early 2000's we served in YWAM with Jerrid and Michelle Stelter. Jerrid was the best man in our wedding and it has been a long time since our families have been together. For the last decade their family has been living outside of Albuquerque and Steve was excited to work a visit with them into our trip. It was SUCH a joy to be with them and catch up and laugh together.

We had one full day to spend together and they gave us many options of fun things to do around the city. We decided to go with a hike at the Tent Rocks. This was one of my favorite days of our whole trip. We visited the Midwest many times as a family and it was so fun to be somewhere completely new to us. The views and experience of this place were truly incredible. It was the perfect hike for our family. Josiah just darted through the rocks climbing and jumping having the time of his life.

This post has a TON of pictures, I just couldn't get enough of this place!

The Stelter family. So fun to be with you guys!!!

So grateful for 'old friends'!

This lovely lady spent her 15th birthday climbing around the Tent Rocks!!

This was pretty much is face the whole entire hike

  1. This was SO FUN! It was sooo good to have your family here and to spend time with all of you. Your kids are beautiful, inside and out. It's such a blessing to have friendships that can pick up right where they left off, despite not seeing each other for 13 (?) years. We were sad to see you go.
