Interior Work

Today was a VERY windy day...


so the shingling was postponed for the day. The guys worked inside and got some huge things done. They busted through the upstairs wall opening up the new bedroom.


There wasn't much to take pics of today so I had a little photo shoot with Greta and the few things that are still blooming around here. Not much was untouched by the construction!








Steve had a little accident today. As they were working upstairs, he stepped on a board that he thought was secure and fell into the bathroom!






They knocked the wall open from my kitchen into my new living room. It looks so big!!


Thank you mom for bringing the yummy supper. It was a nice break from feeding the crowd!!

Today the crew tackled the second half of our addition. They framed and roofed the living room/bedroom addition. I did not get too many shots today, but here are the few that I did...

Another successful day

Today was another beautiful day to work outside. Our work crew got even bigger this weekend, Steve's brother, Seth and his girlfriend, Keely came in from Nebraska to join in the fun. The guys spent the bulk of the day tearing off and reshingling the north side of our house. There was much to clean up after that job.
My morning was spent inside. I was cooking breakfast and went down to my big freezer to get some more english muffins and much to my horror saw that the freezer door was part way ajar. It was so full, it somehow got bumped open. I spent a few minutes in tears, stressing that I did not have time for this activity today, but it ended up ok. I'm now a few meals ahead b/c of having to cook up some of the meat. Thanks to mom and Bev who postponed their shopping trip to help me get things back in order. Thankfully, I didn't have to throw anything away, we were able to salvage it all.

I was cooking supper and came out for something and saw that my older 3 had began DIVING down one of the dirt piles. What a mess, but they had fun.

Our garage has a roof

We awoke this morning to a very wet and muddy construction area due to a little rain last night. This was great news for a 2 year old boy. He immediately found the biggest puddle and spent the morning there.









We were fortunate to have the company of Buddy Baker (friend from church) today. He spent his day off helping us out. Thank you, Buddy, for all of your hard work. Steve and Jeremy said that you were a tremendous help today. Thank also for the subs and treats. And we can't wait to taste your famous lasagna tomorrow!!

Hello Garage!!

Our work crew got even bigger today. Late last night, Steve's dad and his wife arrived to join in on the project. Lots of hands on deck made for a very productive day. They framed hung the trusses for the garage. Wow, it looks like a whole different house!!

Aaron was pretty excited to be having breakfast between both his grandpas.


Aaron was hiding out in the trusses. He kept popping up like a little groundhog.

Progress with no pics

For whatever reason my computer is giving me a hard time downloading tonight. All I have it this pic that Claudia took of Greta in my dad's hat. Cutie.


Today the guys got the floor (joists ??) and plywood in for the new living room. It is a great treat b.c now I can actually open the door onto a floor and not an enormous hole!!
