Seriously?
So I'm really not intending to turn this into a nature blog, but I have one determined mama bird on my hands. And can you tell that I have having a really hard time getting a consistent exposure on this crazy pot on my porch??

I'm voting for the bird. Won't your flowers grow anyway? And they look even prettier with the nest in the middle. It looks like a wreath. Or maybe you can't water it if there's a nest? My mom had this problem on her wreath on the front door. Kind of hard to go in and out the door. Eventually the bird laid eggs and then abandoned them. Sad.

ReplyDeleteLast summer, we had a starling that made nest after nest in our gas grill. We finally just kept it covered... a couple days later, we found out we had a bird in the wall! That mama starling had broken into our dryer exhaust cover, came in the metal tube, then fluttered so much it came loose. She then went down the dry wall opening by the floor studs in the laundry room. We ended up having to cut out a section of drywall to get to the bird, very much alive.
Last week, I kid you not, we had a starling come down our 2nd chimney (that was capped). Matt heard it in there the night before, but thought it would just fly back out the top. The next morning, it broke through the cap plate into our family room! My guess is that it is the same starling! Crazy bird. I guess we should just build it a birdhouse to save ourselves the inevitable trouble.
