History was made today in our neck of the woods. Two 510 ton generators are being moved from Maryland up to Three Mile Island (power plant). Today's part of the journey was just a mile from our house. One of the benefits of homeschooling is being able to take the kids to something like this during the day. We all had fun watching it travel, it was a pretty impressive sight.
Our first view of the generator coming around the corner
This thing was controlled by a remote and had 200+ wheels
They had to construct a new bridge for it to cross over
It will be going real close to Brad's work in Conestoga on Monday or Tuesday. We will be going to it too. Neat to see pictures ahead of time though. Sure takes a while to travel.
I saw this on another friend's blog yesterday! She said it was parked close to their house overnight with five police cars guarding it. They live in the Oxford area. It won't come real close to us, but we may try to go see it if we can time it right.
I bet Aaron was in his glory seeing those trucks up close!
O Lord, do not let these young men think that, because they have let down a little line into the infinite sea of thy greatness, they have sounded all its depths. Save them from conceit, O Lord!
